| | Charlotte's Web Cyber Café
& Book Exchange
We had so much room at the Consultants
North office that we
decided to open a CyberCafe dedicated to the tourists who
arrive in Belize via our Northern Border.
We have:
now
Broadband access to the internet
now
Computers for use off line (type, print, draw, paint)
now
Fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee,
espresso, latte.
now
Maps to look
at and buy
now
Books on Belize (to look at or buy)
now
Snax & cold Pop (Cokes, Fanta, Water, Crystal Fruit Drinks)
now
A cool place to sit and chat
now
A big bulletin board for announcements
and messages
and, most importantly:
Charlotte's Book Exchange. We
have a nice collection of paperback novels and we want to
share. If you've read all your books on the plane or
bus, you can trade them in here two for one or buy at Belizean
prices. (A ten dollar book sells for ten BZ dollah.)
Opening: We
opened on September 8, 2002 with three machines, and we've expanded to five machines
now. We've got our broadband channel to Chetumal hooked up and purring
nicely, and we're running about 70-80K on our connections. (About 3X BTL
speeds)
Bulletin, Bulletin! We hope
that you will use our bulletin board to leave messages for
your friends, and find out what's really happening right now
in Belize! We will have a pin-map, so that you can
register your point of origin when you entered the country.
Guide Books.
We know that you're bringing a couple of books with
you. But we will have Bird Books, Maya Temple
exploration guides, and resources that you only dreamed of
in the States.
Unbeatable Rates. $1 US for the first 10 minutes; a nickel a minute after that.

Putting the shop together was yet another
adventure -- described here.
